Alan Thompson, a native of North Carolina, is a saxophonist, keyboardist and songwriter with over 15 years of training and experience. Alan can be seen playing at venues throughout the Raleigh-Durham area and across the east coast. He has also traveled internationally as a performer and teacher. Alan is the bandleader for The Next Life, as well as an educator and founding member of Zoocrü, a band based in Durham, North Carolina. He is the founder and owner of an artist empowerment brand, Bull City in the Basement. As a host of Morning Jazz on WNCU 90.7fm and WUNC Music 91.5HD2 Alan plays a wide array of world music that challenges the idea of conforming to any particular genre. While being an entrepreneur, educator and mentor, Alan strives to create and promote a lifestyle that is versatile, diverse and unbound while advocating for a world of progressive millennials whom are constantly evolving.
